1 Casino Way Belle Isle
On the first Saturday in February each year, the Friends of the Detroit River hosts the Shiver on the River. The Shiver is a family oriented event, designed to bring people down to the river and to Belle Isle Park, and to educate people about the importance of the river and the need for effective stewardship of the river and its environs. The event is based at the historic Belle Isle Casino, and involves most of the venues on the island, including the Belle Isle Aquarium, the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory, the Belle Isle Nature Zoo, the Dossin Museum, the Detroit Yacht Club, the Detroit Boat Club, and the U.S. Coast Guard Station. There are environmental displays and children’s activities at the Casino, an ice rescue (weather permitting) demonstration by the Coast Guard, and other attractions at the various island sites. It is a great opportunity to get outside in the winter and discover the many wonderful attractions at Belle Isle Park.

Saturday, October 12th (Race Day): 9:00 - 9:45 am in the small paddock on Belle Isle next to the James Scott Memorial Fountain and in front of the Belle Isle Casino (address of Belle Isle Casino - 1 Casino Way, Detroit, MI 48209). I can totally understand why you’re worried about losing your wedding date at the venue due to their booking policy for 2021. It’s nerve wracking, especially when you fall in love with a venue.
Personally, I would trust the information provided to me by the venue’s wedding coordinator as he/she would have the authority on this I would imagine.
Was the man you spoke with the venue’s wedding coordinator or someone who worked directly with weddings? How about the lady?

To be completely honest, the guy seemed like he hadn't worked his job for too long because he didn't know how to answer half of my questions regarding weddings. The lady was completely short with me when I told her my situation, and I just found out there's already an email line to get a request to have an event at their facility. I learned this through a photographer I want to book for my wedding and she was 32nd in line. I'm honestly feeling completely helpless at this point. If I had known there was a line, I would have put my information for a scheduled email all the way back when we went in August. - Kalynn ·

- Clarissa ·View Quoted Comment I ended up booking at another venue; however, I would advicr you to make sure your payment is solid, and send your email right at 8 am. Do not send it any earlier they will be disgarded. Also, I'd advice to be in beyond solid internet connection. If you do get your date, I higgly recommend a day of wedding coordinator.

- Clarissa ·View Quoted Comment I ended up booking my wedding at 2 Gather More in Auburn Hills. It's further away from all of our guests; however, I really wanted to have more freedom in our vendors, it has a more modern look (which I honestly preferred), and it is more secluded (although Belle Isle is pretty secluded too).
